How ValuMate values a startup

ValuMate helps founders turn startup information into a directional pre-money valuation. The process asks about stage, traction, revenue, market size, competition, team and optional documents. Founders who do not know TAM and SAM can answer guided bottom-up market questions instead.

Multiple stage-appropriate methods

Early-stage startups may use Berkus and Scorecard methods. Revenue-generating businesses may also use venture capital, comparable-company and revenue-multiple approaches. Discounted cash flow is reserved for companies with sufficient revenue or projections. Not every method applies to every startup.

Calculation and uncertainty

AI may classify evidence and propose assumptions, but deterministic code performs the arithmetic and validates weights. Each estimate includes a confidence score and a range that widens when inputs or external evidence are weaker. Reports disclose material warnings and limitations. A valuation is an analytical opinion, not a promise of sale price or investment advice.

What is free, and what is paid?

The free snapshot is a concise one-page web summary with the estimated value, range and confidence. A paid full report includes detailed methodology, narrative, sensitivity analysis and a downloadable PDF. Compare all plans and prices.

Privacy and investor visibility

Startup data is private by default. A founder may opt to publish selected startup details to the investor directory only after buying a report or subscribing. The founder chooses disclosure fields and may withdraw a listing. Investor contact details are not automatically shared; the founder approves each introduction.
